Several students have passed off more of the math facts. Some are moving right along. Here is a list of the students who have gotten 100% this past week:
Brinn passed all of 1C and is working on 2A.
Nick passed off 1B and is now on 1C.
Drake completed 1C and moved to 2A.
Abbie got 100% once on 2B.
Rylan got 100% on 2B today!
Samantha completed 2C and is working on 3A, which is multiplication! Way to go!
Carlie passed off 2B and is now on 2C.
Danyale passed off 2A and is working on 2B.
Hunter passed off 2A and moved to 2B today!
Keep working on those math facts. It makes the rest of your math seem so much easier.
In our math time we are learning to add with a way called "partial sums." Sums are the answers you get when you add numbers together. We are learning to add from the left place value to the right place value, adjusting the numbers as we go. We learned that 8 turkeys plus 7 turkeys equals 15 turkeys, so 8 tens plus 7 tens is 15 tens. You can write 15 tens like this: 150. The zero at the end shows we are counting the number of tens. At first it seemed strange, but we are getting better at it. It helps us do math in our heads and not always have to write down the numbers.
We are also subtracting using number lines and counting up. It is easier than it sounds. We are getting quite good at it.
We read a story called "The Keeping Quilt" about a special quilt that was passed down from mother to daughter for several generations. It was used as a baby blanket, a wedding huppa, a tablecloth and a cape. We will be writing about special things we pass down in our families.

Hay Mrs.Labrum could I show the class my sister's blog on Monday. Thank you
Love,
Abbie
Bring your sisters blog address and I am sure it would be fine to have the class see it. Do you have your sister's permission? Make sure you get it first.
