A New Month

We had a power flicker during the weekend and it messed up our computers, so we did not do our usual morning math. But we did get to do Mighty Math. Congratulations to Abbie! She was the first person to pass off a Mighty Math drill. She is now moving on to 1C. Today Danyale got 100 on her drill. We found out that after a weekend we don't do as well on our drills.
Students also got their first spelling list. Be sure to practice so you can write these words in a sentence.
We learned that a sentence must begin with a capital and end with an ending mark. If the sentence is a statement or a request you must put a period at the end.
In math we learned about things that are likely to happen, sure to happen, might not happen, or impossible. These words tell about probability. Mrs. Labrum read a story called "Probably Pistachio." Some things just might not happen, even if we think they will.
Many students are taking quizzes on reading books. Keep reading.
Remember that if you get your work completed you will have more time for recess!
