We had a fun experience today. Mr. Jones gave our class a set of Senteos that we use with our Smartboard. What are Senteos? Click on this word "Senteo" to find out. We used the Senteo to answer questions about our reading story. Students took home a report of their answers today. We all thought it was a fun way to take a quiz. I think we will use them again soon.
We kept hearing a magical sound in our classroom today. Each time it sounded Mrs. Labrum looked at us and announced something like, "Oh, everyone is showing good working skills," or "Some of us weren't doing exactly what we should be doing right now." She wouldn't tell us where the sound came from or why it was sounding. She said she would tell us another day. But it made us think about our working skills. Maybe we should ALWAYS be working or doing what we should be doing at that time.
We had our first spelling test and students found out it wasn't as difficult as they thought it would be. We also wrote in our new "Go-Home-Journals." Parents need to look at the letter that was written to them and write back!
Samantha passed her level 2A today! Now she will be challenged with 2B. Carlie got 100%. One more time and she moves on to 2A. Keep studying!
Did you know that our classroom blog is being watched by people across the country? Some people in Arizona and Missouri are watching us! Look at the map on the right side and run your mouse over the red dots. You will see names of places who are reading our blog. Most of the people are people Mrs. Labrum knows through her teacher groups. Also, Lexi Gale is reading our blog to keep up on her friends. She has responded to us several times. Click on the "comment" link after each entry to see if someone has left us a message. Even you students can leave a message! Try it! If you don't have a blogger address just be sure to type your name at the end of your message, type the scrambled letters as you see them, and click on Anonymous. Your comment will be sent to Mrs. Labrum for approval to show on our blog! Hope to hear from you!
Have a great weekend!
Hi third graders,
ReplyDeleteHow was your weekend? Did any of you go to the peach days parade?
It's nice that we are now settled into our school year and have
hopefully have our schedules worked out. I see you have been busy with
mighty math and some of you are doing very well.
How do you like computers this year? Mrs. Labrum, Leigh and I will be
teaching you a lot of fun skills this year. I am very impressed with
how well your are learning the keyboard. Keep up the good work and
remember good posture, keep your fingers at home row and practice,
practice, practice. Pretty soon your fingers will be flying over the
keyboard. Guess what it also helps to make you a better speller.
And...don't foget I will be seeing in library too. So let me know how
you liked the book you checked out this week and keep reading. It will
be mid-term soon and you need to be working on those accelerated reader
points.
Have a good day and I will see you soon.
Love,
Mrs. Luke
